Dan Davies
Daniel Davies has been programming computers professionally for the past 13 years. He has produced work for various clients, including Sony, Samsung, Nintendo, Channel 4 and the BBC. He has worked on various digital arts projects, including Every Passing Moment (a project for BBC big screen, where people flowing through the spaces surrounding the big screens contributed to the growth cycles of a virtual garden on the screen.

I developed portable bluetooth tracking systems specially for the project to monitor crowd volume and flow through the space), IAmHere (a community mapping project for the International Center for Digital Content, which integrated GPS tracking, Photography, Video, and Audio to produce a rich media overlay on maps of the east Liverpool area, to tell stories relevant to the local community.
This project was concurrent to the roll-out of Google Maps), Landlines (a cross platform Web and mobile GPS based system for artists, which is still considered ground-breaking. The artists who commissioned the project, Jen Southern, and Jen Hamilton, have exhibitied using it internationally as part of a project called Running Stitch, where people's movement around a city contribute in real time to a tapestry of their travel).
Dan has also worked on several computer games, including Monsteca Corral which is available on Nintendos Wii Ware games service, and several for the BBCs CBeebies red button services on Freeview.
He has also worked developing software for various embedded microcontroller systems including monitoring and auditing software which has been used in the factories of major industrial clients including Bostick, Pritt, Tipp-Ex and RizLa. He has also worked as a camera operator, steadicam operator, lighting engineer, and special effects consultant on short films commissioned by the film council, and virgin media as part of the virgin shorts programme.
Dan Davies took part in all three years of the BBC’s Innovation Labs series of events, as a result of which he was involved in developing forward looking concepts for BBC Future Media and Technology department.
Dan has also exhibited as a photographer in various galleries and exhibitions across Merseyside.
